What a Zoo!

This weekend, my mom and Mark were in town and we decided to subject them to the desert heat and hit the zoo. It was the first time for us four too!

The boys had all kinds of grand adventures!

And saw all kinds of exotic animals!

Abe explored...

...and Ben adored...Grandpa Mark.

And more Grandpa Mark.

And even more Grandpa Mark.

And we all felt like Abe looked by the end of the day.

Yeah for the zoo!

Family Photo Session

Reasons why the pictures from our photo shoot should not have turned out:
  1. There were two sets of twins there, mine and hers (who were 9 weeks old, by the way)
  2. I was late, late, late
  3. Abe fell into a stream 2 shots into our session
  4. Abe fell into a stream 2 shots into our session
  5. Abe fell into a stream 2 shots into our session
  6. It was about a million degrees
  7. The mosquitoes were insane and literally sucking us dry
  8. My upper lip would not stop quivering from the stress of the morning

Reasons why the photos from our photo shoot turned out:

  1. Our photographer rocks
  2. Photoshop rocks

So here are a few of my favorites! Hope you enjoy seeing our 1st family photo session! Oh, and Abe is SOAKING wet in every picture except for the 4th. :)

Sweet Sleeper

One nap a day is really taking a toll on The Deuce these days. Benji fell asleep yesterday while watching The Flintstones with daddy.

Loads of Fun

My where-a-bouts on the blog have rapidly declined as of late. Two mobile toddlers, household duties, and beautiful spring weather have encompassed most of my time. And gladly so. I have yet to encounter an age with the boys where I have enjoyed so much with them and about them! Simple things like sharing ice cream, watering the garden, and even doing laundry prove to be quite the experience for us all.I would be lying if I didn't say as well that this age has also been the most difficult. My sweet mobile boys, are in fact mobile. No ground goes untouched by them. Literally. And while I wish I could say that our days run smoothly and with minimal correction. We all know that could be farther from the truth.
On the contrary, our days are quite peppered with TANTRUMS! Big, fat, ugly ones.
But also lots of smiles. And kisses. And belly laughes. And I love you's.
And some other strange things that are cute but that don't quite qualify as anything.

So while the posts may be fewer and farther between, our time spent as a family is flourishing. And that's what it's all about.

We are so very blessed.

Happy Mother's Day!

So while some things in motherhood... may never change. Some will all to quickly.
My wee little babes grew bigger feet,
and now they move so swiftly. Sigh.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am so thankful to have enjoyed my second Mother's day as Ben and A.B.'s momma. We spent our morning at church and then had an incredibly relaxing picnic at the park, just us four. While the boys ate their weight in grapes, Jer and I feasted on ham, swiss, and brie sandwiches. Then we all indulged in an afternoon nap. It was a wonderful day.
As for the above photo, it's a picture of one of the most treasured gifts that I ever have received. Last year, Jer gave me this frame and photo and the items necessary to "print" the boys' feet. This year, we continued the tradition and were amazed to see such tangible proof of their growth! I'm not sure how long the current frame will allow for the unique artwork, but I think we've got a year or two before we've got to come up with a new idea. Maybe.
