Growin' Babes

Blogging {and all things extracurricular} have been put even further on the back burner as of late. It's not because much of anything in our day-to-day has changed. It's' just that I've been trying to relish these last few days of my boys' being one. To truly soak in where they are at, their little quirks, what they smell like, the sound of their voices, the way their hands grab onto mine when they say, "Come, mama!", their littleness.
It's strange. I've had a year worth of one with them. So why is it that I feel like these last few days are what I need to cling to in order to remember it?! It's not like they will be any different once they turn two. But in a way, they will. Every day they are different. Bigger. Smarter. Quicker. Stronger. They are growing up so very, very fast.
And their little brother is right behind them.

Random

Tonight, I was doing dishes when I suddenly realized that you can tell a lot about a family by what's in their dishwasher.
Sippy cups and coffee cups.
Yup. I'd say that's pretty much sums us up.

Here's something you don't see everyday! Jeremy's grandfather's thirty year old guitar. Filled with rocks. And a Q-tip. Special, don't cha' think?
And because I can't leave you without yet another breathtaking pic of #3...
I should probably enter him in the Gerber Beautiful Baby Contest. I think he'd have it in the bag.

2 Months Old!

Our Judah Boy is 2 months old and an absolute joy!

I just can't believe how quickly he is growing and changing! He had his two month check-up last Wednesday and is growing like a weed! He weighed in at 11 pounds 8 oz {15%} and was 23.75 inches long {75%}. An absolute giant compared to the tiny babies we've been used to! These past few weeks, he's started charming his daddy and I with all of his cooing and smiling too. And boy are we are smitten! He's having longer awake times during the day {although he's definitely our sleepiest baby} and doing really great with sleeping at night. On most nights, he takes his last feeding at 10, will sleep until 4:30 or 5, wake for a quick feeding, and then is back down until 7ish, where I wake him to start our day. While we're still working out a few kinks, like his major awake and fussy time, which is between 9-10pm, we're on a pretty fluid schedule during the day. So far, he's not been disturbed by all of the noise in the house that never fails to occur right outside his bedroom door :) AND his night time crying has yet to wake The Deuce. Nothing but sweet relief there! The big boys are just as sweet as ever with him too. They still really love to give him kisses and wipe his mouth when he spits up. I have to say my favorite though is what they call him, Ju-Ju. It melts my heart every time!

How sweet it is to have a baby in the house! Now that I'm no longer ignorant to how fast it truly goes, I'm just trying to relish all of the tiny things about him. For all too soon I know he will be on the heels of his brothers, adding to the rough housing and crashing about. Lord help me...

Checkin In

Man do I love these kids...

And man do I love it when they do this...
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Lately, Ben has been obsessed with his camouflage rain boots. He takes on a whole new gait when he wears them. It's sort of looks like Godzilla walking on a bed of hot coals. And for some reason he thinks he needs to scream too. A lot.

Recently, I've been trying to introduce some books that have a bit more of a storyline rather than just sticking to the usual "Elmo Loves Cookies" route that we've been on forever. We've been enjoying "Chicken Little," "The Three Little Pigs," and even "The Gingerbread Man" but are looking for some more suggestions. The Deuce seem to enjoy any of the longer stories as long as the pictures are big and colorful and they have a lot of animals. Your thoughts? Maybe a trip to the library?
