T.G.G.C

T.G.G.C~Thank goodness grandma is coming! My mom and Mark come tomorrow for Courtney and David's graduations. They'll be here through Sunday and I can't wait to have grandma's helping hands! Things have really been a challenge lately! I don't know if we're just really busy or what. It's weird; we'll have a really good couple of days and then a couple of really bad days. It's quite frustrating. I am such a schedule oriented person and babies are just the opposite! Go figure right?!?! I am really having to retrain my brain in terms of how I am used to thinking. NOTHING gets done quite the way it used to! Most of the time it's okay but I do miss the days where laundry wasn't piled to the ceiling and dinner came at a pretty regular time! In due time I guess...
We're really excited to be celebrating both David and Court's graduations though! Dave is graduating from Eldorado and Court from UNM! It's amazing how time flies. It seems like only yesterday Jer and I were graduating from UNM, but that was three years ago! Even crazier than that is the fact that we have been out of high school eight years! Yikes! This week is Court's last week in Albuquerque too : ( On Sunday, she leaves to join Drew in College Station. We're happy for them to be reunited but sad that it means she'll be a plane flight or a VERY long drive away. Ben, Abe and I will miss our afternoons with Auntie Court.
The boys went to the pediatrician for shots ( 5 each) yesterday and needless to say they weren't happy campers. They did; however, get raving reviews for their weights (9.14-A, 8.2-B). They have both more than doubled their birthweights! Yeah! It's hard to believe that just 10 weeks ago they were so tiny! I can hardly remember what it felt like to hold my four pound babies!! They met their milestones for their checkup as well. It wasn't too hard considering that it only meant meeting three requirements 1. Smiling 2. Lifting their head at a 45 degree angle and 3. Fixating on objects. Still I was happy to hear they are right on track for a term baby.
Their sleeping patterns are staying about the same. They wake between 3 and 4 most nights but that's it! I have to say, getting up once at night sounds pretty easy compared to some of the horror stories I have heard from friends. Besides, once I'm awake I rather enjoy the quiet time with each of them. I used to wake and feed them both at the same time but I changed that up a few weeks ago so I could start spending some alone time with each of them. They're pretty peaceful at 3:30am and I enjoy rocking with them and listening to their little sounds as they eat. I think they like the undivided attention too.
I have some pictures that I wanted to post but unfortunately my camera batteries are charging. Hopefully, I'll be able to put some new pictures up tomorrow. Until then, this tired momma is signing off...
