Settling In...Kinda

It's early and as the sun comes up for the seventh day in our new house, I still can't believe we live here and that this is what we see when we look out of the front door. I also cannot believe that it has snowed, twice, since we've moved in, either.
Can I also just say, that as an Albuquerque native for 29 years, it is so crazy that the sun  in Sandia Park doesn't come up over the Sandias! {Don't even get me started on how the mountains are in the west now too} I'd also like to note that as soon as it goes down, it's pretty much dark-thirty up here too. Yowza. Now THAT is taking some getting used to. Especially when you're sitting in the car that your husband just turned off so he could run around to the back of the house {aka the corner in the movie where if someone goes around it they don't come back} to open the garage door from inside because their are no garage door openers and pretty much every scary movie you've EVER watched or heard about is running on fast forward through your brain, specifically the one where the hook goes scratch, scratch, scratch on the roof of the car. Areyawithme? Nothing a $100 bucks in flood lights from Lowe's couldn't resolve, though Our drive lights up like the airport now when you pull up. Hallelujah!
Our short week in our new house has also found me doing a short stint in bed {48 hours of resting and hydrating-doc's orders!} two sick kiddos and Jer  traveling for work. Which is just a "busier" way of saying our garage still looks like this...
We have managed to unpack the essentials, though. You know, like the coffee pot and of course, the chocolate milk! But our goal is to try and tackle our big mess in the upcoming week and at least make some sense out of it. Jer took a week's vacation this coming week, so hopefully by next Saturday, we'll be parked in the garage. And as for those of you who have asked for pictures of the house, I hope to get those up in the next day or two, which more realistically probably means next week :) You're always welcome to come check it out in person, though. Ahem, momanddebbie.

I'm glad you are taking it easy for a few days. Can't wait to see a few pictures of the inside of the house!
