September starts my and Jeremy's favorite time of year. Not only because the changing of the seasons is absolutely beautiful but also because the cooler nights beckon cozy fires and encourage bowls of hot green chile stew and buttered tortillas. September also means State Fair time. A chance to walk the fair grounds, grab the once a year Indian Taco and Funnel Cake, and check out the variety of farm animals, rides, and exhibits. And that, my friends, is exactly what we did today.
While mom and dad preferred green chile corn dogs, the boys noshed on Slush Puppies and kettle corn...
And although there were White Tiger shows, dogs jumping off docks, giant horse mascots, traditional Native American dancing, horse shows, vintage cars, acrobatics, carnival rides, and live music...the ABSOLUTE highlight of the day was the petting zoo. I tell ya, sheer delight, that $2 Dixie Cup of animal food brought us today. I guess it really is the simple things.
Ben getting friendly with the cow.
A.B. not lovin it so much (and mom trying her best to encourage her boy by rubbing that cow's nappy head)
Ben was absolutely beside himself feeding the goats. I wish I had a video camera because the laughter was totally contagious :)
This sheep was SO much bigger than Ben! He was totally unaware though. He just kept laughing at his hand being licked to death!
What a lovely time AND a lovely time of year! Yay for Fall!

Looks like SO much fun!
Oh the sights, smells, and tastes of the fair! I am very proud of you for patting that nappy haired goat for your little boy.
looks like you had a great time!!! Those boys are so big and sweet!! I think nothing is as great as seeing things through the eyes of your child for the first time.
