Way Back When-esday

My cousin Luke's baby girl, Morgan Riley, was born on Monday and let me tell you she is a doll! As I was looking at all of the pictures of her birth, I was reminded of the when I held the boys for the first time and the absolute joy and love that came over me as a mother. I think what the most amazing part is that you already "know" this person to some extent. I remember seeing Ben's knee, rubbing it, and knowing that that was the same exact knee I had been rubbing for months. So I'll save the "my how they grow so fast" bit for now. In the meantime, here's a few reminiscent pictures of those first precious days with our tiny boys. Mom, Abe, Dad, Ben-3 days old!

Our favorite nurse, Albin, holding Ben. Isn't he the tiniest thing?!

Way Back When-esday

I was going through the archives of our blog last night and ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT BELIEVE that this is what the boys used to look like! This is the night they were born, still pink and angry as fire about being out of my tummy. Later that evening, I was in the NICU and started crying because I couldn't see them both at the same time (Sounds dumb now, I guess blame it on the hormones!). Well two of the nurses actually broke protocol and put them together for us. It was life changing to see them together. They were SO tiny, yet so sweet and 100% ours. It was a pivotal moment in my life. One that I will never, ever forget. My tiny boys.
