For this task oriented mama, the day before Thanksgiving threatens to bring with it a day knee deep in the kitchen. My family gathering contributions of mashed potatoes, cheesecake topped with cherries, pecan pie and of course our Thanksgiving morning tradition of Bubble Bread all call for equal amounts of undivided attention and time. Lots and lots of time. This year, however, a request from the oldest to do a craft had my heart in tune with a different song. My to-do list, albeit still there, changed based on the needs for the moment-something I am still daily {and often painfully}learning to do. What a rich reward, though, to feed more than just their bellies this Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving!
We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving; spending most of our day soaking in these last days with just The Deuce! Jer made a fire and we feasted on Mimi's Bubble Bread while we watched The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in our p.j's.. Later that afternoon, we headed over to Mimi and Pop's for dinner with most of Jer's family and this year's special guests, Auntie Court and Uncle Drew. It was a lovely time and we stuffed ourselves full, to say the least!
The boys' favorite parts were the sweet potatoes and Auntie Court's Cookie Salad!

Ben had a fabulous time trying to divert the room's attention from the football game. He pulled out every trick in his book.
We couldn't get A.B. to leave them on their long enough to take a picture! He kept jamming them in his mouth :)

Thanksgiving Recap and Black Friday
Wow! Thanksgving came and went in a big ol' hurry, didn't it?! Hope your day was a blessed one! Ours sure was. Here's how we spent the day...
Sittin around in one of these...
Watchin a little of this...
Eatin a little of this....
...and that...
...and some more of this and that...
Then we sat around and stared at each other :)
Today Jer and I braved the day-after-Thanksgiving shoppers (for the first time EVER!) and ventured to K-Mart for their BOGO sale on Leap Frog toys. I was greatly disappointed to find out that the "sale" was for Wednesday ONLY! Bah! Everything was back to it's $26.99 and up prices. Too bad.
