Chama Fun

Throwing rocks into the lake
Staying up wayyyy too late
  Marshmallows for a bedtime snack
Exploring trails while on horseback
Dinner on our favorite deck
Time for another mountain trek
Sneakin' up on some drinkin' Elk
Sure! Have another cup of chocolate milk!
Falling asleep in Nana's arms
And Grandpa bought you Lucky Charms!
Trips to town for Lowes and the train
Ben driving the burb' up Buckman lane
We love our Chama time, yes we do!
Even if the boys treat all six acres as their personal loo!
And even though apples, the barn and rides are a ball
We love our Grandpa and Nana time most of all.

Missing Chama {and YOU GUYS!} already!

Chama Beauty

"Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."

Sledding and Words to Live By

We're back from a very quick New Year's trip up North to Chama to see my dad and Vicky. It was an extremely fun but extremely cooooold weekend trip. Let's just say the -18 degree weather gave me a new appreciation for Albuquerque's fairly mild winters. In all fairness though, it did warm up some. All the way to seven {SEVEN!} degrees which, apparently, in Chama is warm enough to take your small children out in and push them down a very snowy hill on a giant piece of plastic. Yipeee!

In other news, today my very concerned firstborn was on the potty wearing nary a piece of clothing except for a pair of cowboy boots and the apple in his hand {I know, gross.} when he looked at me with the most serious of faces and tried to impart some of his little boy wisdom.

His words?

"Momma! Don't touch the poop, okay?"

Outta the mouths of babes, right?

A Day at Nana and Gampa's

A few weeks ago, our little family took a day trip to Chama to spend the day with my dad and Vicky. While our plans were a little last minute, due to how sick I was, it still turned out to be a lovely day and visit! The boys' absolutely adore their Nana and Gampa. And I have to say the feeling seems to be pretty mutual. We hardly even step foot onto their property before Nana and Gampa snatch them up and they are off and running, taking about a million and a half apples to the horses :) Oh Chama, fun times!

Hey! Ben's in the hay!
My handsome hubby holding our most photogenic babe {like the spit-up?} And because someone always asks, NO that is not a hicky. It is a birthmark. I love my man but I try to keep it classy!
A.B. and Gampa hanging out in the bobcat
Ben "stepping big" and trying to climb the snowy mountain.
Sleddin' time!
Wheeeeeeeeeeee!
I love how Ben is barely holding on and A.B. is busy looking at the passing snow! Ha!
Uncle Dave trying to take a run but the dogs wanted to eat the sled! See Boomer? He's a happy mountain dog now!
Jer about to pull an Evil-Knievel
I just love this picture. I think Abe has his Uncle's ears, don't you?!
Earning his name: Just Judah!
These have been there a while!
Climbing the hill! It was very warm-see Uncle Drew's t-shirt?
Ben-getting a daddy fix.
Ben and Nana taking an evening ride. See the apple in his hand? I think that was #474 for the day.
A&B ending the day with a little birthday cake!
Thanks for the fun day, dad and Vicky. We love you guys and can't wait to spend a lot more time up there making some wonderful memories!

What Do You Need to Send the Boys to Grandpa's House?

A "strategically" placed Benji, so mom can pack!
Plenty of milk!
Carseats and a carefully packed suitcase!
Diapers, diapers, and more diapers! The disposible kind too!
Voila! Instant get-a-way for mom and dad! Back on Monday!
